December 6, 2020
Dear SEES Families,
Well, December sure has kicked off with many more unexpected twists and turns! Thank you to our community for being flexible and patient during last weeks power outage and school closures. With the announcement from the Governor of a new regional stay at home order, the million dollar question has been - what does this mean for schools? The order does not affect our schools since we were already opened during the Purple Tier. We will continue to remain open and diligent with our protocols to ensure our students stay safe. You can get more detailed information about the Regional Stay Home Order here. To stay informed on our districts protocols due to Covid, please spend some time reviewing the SMUSD website.
Minimum Day Schedule - December 18th -
All TK/K/1 students will learn remotely from home. Remote learning hours 8:30-10:10
All 2nd-5th graders in person learning 8:45-12:30.
LEVS students will follow the same minimum day schedule from home.
Picture Day - December 10th and 11th
LEVS Students may come to the Multi-Purpose Room on Thursday, 12/10 from 1:30-2:30 or Friday, 12/11 from 2:00-3:00
LEVS Helping Hands
We have some very giving 4th grade scholars who are participating in the Helping Hands service learning project. Do you want to help make a difference in our community? Please read their presentations and see if there is a way you can help. We will be collecting donations in boxes in front of SEES for Casa de Amparo, The Arc of San Diego, and Wounded Warrior Homes. You also can donate to the World Wildlife Fund directly if you would like to help. Thank you to our scholars who are leading this work, showing empathy and generosity toward those in need, and making a positive difference in our world. All donations should be made by December 16th. Thank you!

Thank you to the San Marcos Kiwanis Club for their generous donation of 100 books as part of their Captain Book Literacy Program. Some of these books will become part of our library’s collection. Most of these books will be awarded to students who participate in our school-wide reading challenge.
