All About Ms. Miller

Who is Ms. Miller?

Hi!! I grew up in Carlsbad and went to school in the San Marcos Unified School District from kindergarten through senior year of high school! I went to Carrillo Elementary, San Elijo Middle School, and San Marcos High School. After many years spent in SMUSD, I spent four and a half years at Biola University where I received both my undergraduate degree as well as my teaching credential. My undergraduate degree is in Liberal Studies Elementary Education and I also have a minor in biblical studies. After completing my student teaching, I got hired at SEES where I have been teaching for a few years now.

During my time at Biola, I played 4 years of NCAA DII soccer and loved (almost) every minute. I played right back (defense) all four years. Now, as a washed up athlete, I find a lot of joy in going on runs, going to the gym, and playing in a pick up soccer league.
While I grew up loving and playing soccer, I also have a deep love for football! In college, I was a very avid UCLA football fan but with my favorite player recently being drafted, I am now one of the biggest Titans fans you’ll meet!! TITAN UP!

I grew up the oldest in a family of five with two younger sisters. My mom, Stacy Miller, is a kindergarten teacher here at SEES! She has been in the district for over twenty years and deeply impacted my desire to get into education as well. My dad recently retired from the Encinitas Fire Department where he served about 30 years of service. Brooke (the middle sister) just graduated from Iowa State University and is now working in marketing at a finance company in Orange County. Brooke was a student athlete and played soccer at ISU. My youngest sister is headed into her freshman year of high school at SMHS where she will be involved in the dance team.

This will be Mr. Gidner and I’s second year teaching fourth grade together and we could not be more excited! We have learned a rhythm that balances and highlights each other's strengths. We aim to cultivate a safe and positive classroom environment for all our students to learn.

I look forward to developing intentional relationships with each individual child in our classroom along with their families!

HERE’S TO A GREAT YEAR (:
