Principal's Newsletter 10/9/22

Dear San Elijo Elementary Families,

Thank you so much for making purchases at the book fair! It was a huge success. Your support allows SEES to provide enriching educational resources like books for the classrooms and library and Scholastic Magazine/Story Works to supplement our English Language Arts Instruction. Thank you to Mrs. Appel, Mrs. Hawkins, and all the hard-working volunteers for making this possible! Happy Reading!

Seeing so many families participate in our Walk To School Day was wonderful! I love how even the simple events are so much fun with such a fantastic community of families coming together. I can't wait to see everyone at the Monster Bash this Friday!

Conference Week

As a reminder, there will be NO SCHOOL tomorrow, 10/10, for conferences. Additionally, school will release early for all grades Tuesday through Friday this week. Please note the following bell times-

    • AM TK- 8:30 am-11:00 am
    • PM TK- 10:30 am-1:00 pm
    • Kinder- 8:45 am-1 pm
    • 1st-5th- 8:45 am-1:25 pm

**Please note that on Wednesday, 10/12, San Elijo Middle School will release at 1:24 pm, 1 minute before our 1st-5th graders. We have been in touch with the SEMS administration, who will remove their barriers from School House Way a little early to clear the traffic as soon as possible. However, there is no way around the delays that will be caused by both schools releasing simultaneously. Please use patience and plan accordingly. Together, we will get through one day of pick-up Carmageddon!

Crazy Hair Day on Tuesday, October 11

In celebration of the highest participation and amount earned from Cash4Kids this year, we will celebrate with a CRAZY DAY! Students are welcome to wear crazy hair, crazy socks, or crazy clothes (OR ALL THREE). We will also have music before and after school and have a fun day with the students. If you have a conference scheduled for this day, please excuse any potential crazy appearances from your teachers!

Families at PE!

Thank you to our families who RSVP’d for Families at PE. We look forward to having you participate in fun and engaging PE activities with Coach Miller and our PE team! We will see you out there.

Halloween Costumes

Students and adults are invited to wear a school-appropriate Halloween costume to the Monster Bash on October 14 AND to school on Monday, October 31. Please remember that we have very young children attending SEES; some students are more easily frightened than others. Costumes worn at school should not have any weapons, gore, or depict graphic violence. If a non-scary mask is essential to the outfit, it is okay for students to bring it and wear it for photo opportunities. However, we will ask students to keep face masks off or propped up during most of the day.

Remind.com

In addition to weekly emails, we communicate short reminders, updates, and announcements to parents via the remind.com app. It is set up for text messages but downloading the app is recommended. This is optional since messaging rates may apply, and you may not want to receive frequent messages from me. Please click on the appropriate link below-
