Kristine Manaktala

Hello My Name Is...

Kristine Manaktala

My name is Kristine Manaktala, and I am so excited to be your child's 3rd grade teacher this year!  This is my thirteenth year teaching at San Elijo, and my twentieth year teaching in the district.  I love teaching 3rd grade, and I look forward to having a fun and successful year.

I have two amazing children that keep me plenty busy outside of school.  James, my son, will be a sophomore in high school this year, and Autumn, my daughter,  is in 8th grade. They  both play  soccer, so I usually spend most of my free time on the local fields for practices and games.

Early on in my career, I was a middle school special education teacher.  Since then, I have worked as a full time teacher in the general education setting where I taught 5th grade for twelve years and 3rd grade for two years.  I have learned so much at every site and every grade level I've taught.  My continuing goal is to meet  students’ individual needs while creating an engaging and rigorous environment!

3rd grade is a very challenging year because students have an enormous amount to learn. Building  a community of excited learners who respect each other, learn to think critically and independently, and strive to reach their fullest potential by taking on academic challenges is my main goal.  I know 3rd grade will be both fun and stimulating  for your child.  With your help, we will make your child’s third grade experience a success!

The adventure begins here!

Sincerely,

Ms. Manaktala
