Experience
I have been working in a variety of educational settings since 1990 as a tutor, aide, and teacher. This is my 23rd year teaching in the San Marcos Unified School District. I have had the pleasure of teaching at 4 schools in our district: Richland, La Costa Meadows, San Elijo School (K-8), and San Elijo Elementary. In addition to teaching 1st grade for 17 years, I have taught a 3/4 combo, 5th grade, and this is my fourth year teaching 2nd grade!
As teachers, we all take on different roles to work collaboratively whether it is at our sites or at the district level. I have had the opportunity to serve on our School Site Committee, mentor student teachers from CSUSM as well as new teachers to our district, write assessments for our district, and train staff on curriculum and practices. I am always eager to learn new things and bring that enthusiasm back to our school and the classroom!
