1. What should parents do during a school emergency?

Parents who are on campus should follow the teachers and administrators' directions during an emergency. Our school has a comprehensive safety plan and it is important for all adults and students to follow procedures.

2. Does our school practice for emergencies?

Yes, we conduct monthly safety drills (lock downs and fire/earthquake drills). We also have a school safety committee that meets monthly to review and improve our school's safety procedures. Furthermore, our school communicates with our district office and the local authorities during emergencies.

3. How/when are the kids checked in as "safe"?

School staff is trained for different types of emergencies. The staff will take attendance and verify all students and adults are safe.

4. How will parents be notified about an emergency?

Our school will send out emergency phone calls and emails in the event of an emergency. Additionally, the SMUSD district office would be notified immediately and would assist in communicating with families.

5.Where do we pick kids up during an emergency?

Parents will be notified of the safest location to pick up their students, locations include our school, San Elijo Middle School and San Elijo Park on Schoolhouse Way.
