Special Education

Mission

Provide a free and appropriate public education for all San Marcos students, aged 3 years to 22 years, who require special education services. San Elijo Elementary uses the Response to Intervention Process to monitor students' need for Special Education services.

North Coastal Consortium for Special Education:

In order to meet our students' needs and support their families, San Marcos Unified is part of the North County Consortium for Special Education. The North Coastal Consortium for Special Education (NCCSE) is a dynamic, regional, and collaborative special education local planning area whose purpose is to support local school districts as they provide for the needs of special education students.  We encourage you to visit their website at http://www.nccse.org/.
